  3. Clare Dillon's Blog : More on Scott Guthrie's sessions for the INDC Says:

[...] More on Scott Guthrie’s sessions for the INDC Here are some more details regarding Scott Guthrie’s talks in Dublin on Wed/Thurs next week. Scott is often referred to the ‘father of ASP.NET’, but he is also now General Manager of the .NET Developer Platform over in Redmond so if have any questions about the future of .NET – he is the man to answer them. His sessions for the INDC will focus on web development – how to build a web app with Ajax support using our latest tools. Here is how Scott has described his sessions: Keynote Title: “Build an Web App from Scratch using ASP.NET 2.0, VS 2005 and Atlas” (Level 200) Basically I’d build an app from scratch (start with a blank new web-site) and build a data-driven app with Ajax support via Atlas, security membership and role-management system with forms-auth, site navigation system with menuing, consistent UI with master-pages, and portal drag/drop with web-parts. This is a pretty good intro talk to people who aren’t as familiar with ASP.NET 2.0, VS 2005 and Atlas and provides a good foundation of the platform and tools. Thursday Sessions Title: “Atlas” (Level 300)This talk would provide a good overview and drill down into the Atlas Ajax framework and how it works.  People would leave the talk knowing how to build Ajax enabled apps using ASP.NET pretty easily. If you are interested in finding out more about the INDC, visit the new WordPress site the community has created where further details, follow-up blogs, photos and slides will be posted or go directly to the ICS site to register. It’s only 50 euro to help the organisers cover their costs. I would highly recommend the conference – they should be excellent sessions and it’s always great to support the local developer community! Have a great long weekend in the meantime!       Published Friday, April 28, 2006 5:16 PM by Clare Dillon [...]
